I’m an award winning photographer, amateur naturalist and conservationist, living and working near Castle Douglas in Galloway, SW Scotland.
Until May 2023 I was an active Trustee of Taliesin Community Woodlands, winner of the Small Community Woodland Group competition 2022 and the
Tim Stead Trophy for best overall Community Woodland Award 2022
An unexpected move to Scotland in 2012 rekindled my love for the natural world and in 2016 I took up photography.
In 2018 I won Second Prize in the prestigious Royal Society for Biology ‘Photographer of the Year’ competition.
I have had several successful exhibitions and my work has appeared in several publications.
All my photos are taken locally, the vast majority within a 5 mile radius of my home and I don’t use paid photography hides. I have little interest in travelling to far flung places chasing the exotic, preferring to showcase our everyday wonders of nature as pieces of photographic art.
