Although common in the south, the Broad-bodied Chaser is extremely rare in Scotland. This freshly emerged male is one of just a small handful of confirmed Scottish records, and I feel deeply privileged to have seen it. I think Dragonfly wings are one of the most exquisite of all Nature’s creations, and this close-up against Bluebells makes a beautiful abstract image.
