Probably my favourite Butterfly, Small Coppers are tiny in stature but large in attitude and character, strutting about on flowers, feeding and displaying their wonderful colours and chasing much larger Butterflies away from their patch. I find them a tricky subject though, as they never occur in huge numbers and are very flighty. I managed to get this photograph of an individual sunning itself against a backdrop of Hawkbit flowers on a forestry track.
