A Nuthatch in a patch of light deep in the woods.
An endlessly busy and bold wee bird who is always on the lookout for food to stash away, the Nuthatch was absent from Scotland until about 30 years ago. It steadily expanded it’s range northwards though, and is now a common and welcome sight in woodlands in my part of SW Scotland.
