The Four-spotted Chaser is a widespread, medium sized Dragonfly. Emerging in late Spring, it can be extremely numerous at some ponds and the males defend their small territories vigourously, making them a very entertaining species to watch on a sunny day. This individual was recently emerged and in pristine condition, perched amongst Yellow Flag Iris and Buttercups.
