This is one of my favourite Damselfly images. It shows a female (left) and male Banded Demoiselle on Water Forget-me-Not flowers, which grow abundantly at this site. Taken very early in the morning, its beautifully simple and has an Oriental silk painting vibe to it.
Banded Demoiselles are large, wonderfully iridescent Damselflies that favour bodies of slow-moving, deep water. Extremely active and flighty in sunny conditions, they are an absolute delight to watch.
